Psychology Lecturer
Our goal: We aim to provide our students with excellent, research-informed education that prepares them for their future careers in psychology and beyond. By combining innovative teaching methods with personal guidance, we ensure our students not only gain knowledge but also develop essential skills for life.
Your Colleagues: You will become part of the Section Teaching and Innovation of Learning (STIL): a vibrant team of more than 45 passionate lecturers. Together, we design, deliver, and continuously improve our educational , with a strong emphasis on innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based teaching.
What you will do
• Provide teaching within one or more programs offered by the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience, including in the Bachelor Psychology;
• Tutor in several courses;
• Be a trainer in skills training courses;
• Guide students in writing assignments.
• Mentor the individual development of our students.
You contribute to
• The organization and collaboration within the Section Teaching and Innovation of Learning (STIL) and within the faculty;
• The innovation of learning and teaching through evidence-based practices.

What you will bring
We are not interested in ticking boxes -we want to know who you are and what you bring to the table. Does this sound like you?
• Master degree in Psychology;
• Motivated to spend 100% of your appointment teaching.
• Excellent written and oral expression skills, both in Dutch and in English;
• Good communication, social and organizational skills;
• Affinity with problem-based learning and experience in supervising groups;
• Affinity with Neuropsychology, Clinical Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Work and Organizational Psychology and Statistics.
• Available for 0.8 fte and as from from August 17, 2026.
What we offer
At Maastricht University, you’ll work in an international, open, and engaged environment. We offer: A 12-month contract (0,8 fte) with the prospect of a 2 year extension.
- A gross monthly salary between €3546,00 and €5538,00 (based on full-time employment of 38 hours per week). 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus.
- 29 vacation days (based on full-time), four additional days off (Carnival Monday and Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day), and the possibility to accrue up to 12 extra days through compensation hours.
