Operations Coordinator
Welcome to Maastricht University!
The world is changing rapidly, and we are evolving with it. Here, you can truly make a difference, whether you contribute to research, education, or the organization that supports them. As an Operations Coordinator, you will work in an environment where technology, research, quality, and collaboration come together—and where your work directly contributes to biomedical research and animal welfare.
Operations Coordinator
Our goal: To further develop quality management and realize new, future-proof research facilities.
Your colleagues: Within the Central Animal Facilities (CAF), you will work alongside animal caretakers, biotechnicians, researchers, and support staff in a dedicated and professional team.
The Central Animal Facilities support biomedical research involving animals at Maastricht University. The coming years will focus on development and innovation. Our quality management system will be further enhanced, while we simultaneously work on the renovation and modernization of our facilities.
That is why we are looking for an Operations Coordinator who can maintain an overview, connect processes, and move projects forward.
In this role, you will focus on two key pillars:
a. further developing and embedding the quality management system, and
b. contributing to the renovation project of new facilities.
You will collaborate with various technical and facility services, external partners, and the management team. Acting as the link between technology, organization, and research, you ensure that processes run smoothly and comply with all legal and technical requirements.
What you will do
You will focus on quality management, renovation projects, and the management of technical facilities within the CAF. Your tasks and responsibilities include:
• Developing, maintaining, and improving the quality management system (ISO 9001:2015)
• Supporting the renovation project of new facilities and monitoring technical and regulatory requirements
• Coordinating with internal departments such as Facility Services, IDEE, and HSB, as well as external partners
• Monitoring technical processes within the facilities, such as ventilation, temperature, and installations
• Identifying bottlenecks and initiating improvements in processes and organization
• Acting as the point of contact for technical and organizational matters
• Staying involved in daily operations within the facilities to fully understand processes
• Communicating effectively with clients and partners
Are you ready to help shape the direction for the years ahead? We would love to meet you.
What you bring
We are not looking for a checklist, but for who you are and what you bring. Do you recognize yourself in the following?
• Strong organizational skills and overview: You can manage complex projects and structure and improve processes
• Quality-driven: You work accurately and are motivated to improve processes and systems
• Project-oriented and communicative: You easily switch between stakeholders and projects
• Technical and practical insight: You have an interest in technical installations, facilities, and regulatory guidelines
• Experience in an animal facility or research environment: You are familiar with practice in animal facilities or willing to develop in this area
• Proficiency in English (B1/B2 level): You can easily communicate with clients and are able to read and process English texts
