Job Description
The Expert Centre on Emerging Economies (ECEE) of the Maastricht School of Management (MSM) is looking for a support officer. As a member of the back office of the ECEE department, you will be responsible for conducting, administering and supporting the tendering process, implementation and reporting of projects and also providing assistance in harmonizing other ECEE tasks related to research, executive training and lobby and advocacy.


Tasks:

  • Coordination and Administration
    • Coordinating the administrative processes for acquisition, tendering, and reporting of projects and tailor-made training programs for national and international donor organizations.
    • Providing administrative support for projects, executive training, and consultancy activities.
  • Quality and Compliance
    • Ensuring the quality and compliance of submitted documents, verifying they meet the requirements of funding bodies.
    • The timely and accurate submission of project proposals and reports in accordance with the requirements of the funding bodies.
    • Monitoring and managing deadlines for reporting and tender submissions.
  • Process Optimization
    • Developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and efficiency in administrative processes.
    • Streamlining administrative workflows to improve the efficiency and accuracy of project administration and documentation processes.
    • Monitoring (internal) process agreements.
  • Internal and External Communication
    • Managing internal and external correspondence and archiving.
    • Organizing ECEE meetings and supporting the alignment of ECEE activities.

For now, the focus will be on support activities for projects, in the future this may be extended to back office activities for executive trainings and tailor made trainings as well.     


Requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive team player with excellent organizational skills to support our team. You are accurate, proactive, able to work under pressure and flexible.

Next to this you have:

  • Several years of working experience in  an administrative support role
  • HBO working and thinking level
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent knowlegde of MS Office package
  • Good communicative skills in both Dutch and English (French is an advantage)
  • Experience with administrative support for international donor organizations (such as the European Union) is an advantage.

 

What we offer
As Support officer for the Expert Centre on Emerging Economies (ECEE) at School of Business and Economics, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:

  • Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 8 according to UFO profile Project Leader, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from €3218,00 and €4298,00 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
  • An employment contract for a period of 12 months with a scope of 1,0 FTE. Upon proven suitability, the employment contract will be converted to an indefinite contract. 
  • At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.

The Expert Centre on Emerging Economies (ECEE) is part of the Maastricht School of Management (MSM).  MSM is one of the seven international higher education institutions in the Netherlands focusing on Management education for participants from the Global South. ECEE’s work is within MSM devoted to capacity building trajectories, research and executive training. The MSM/ ECEE team is a dynamic and international team of about 16 persons.
