Job Description
In this position you will be the liaison from the University Library (UB) to the School of Business and Economics (SBE) of Maastricht University (UM). You teach, in coordination with SBE, students in the field of (digital) information skills. You also have an important role in cooperating with SBE regarding the educational and research collection to be purchased. You are part of the SBE Library Committee and are responsible for the annual budget regarding services provided and desired collections. From your interest and experience you can collaborate on innovative projects such as digital & AI literacy in education and digital open educational reources.
You will be concerned with:
- inventory and analysis of users' wishes regarding the collections (incl. databases on financial and company data) and advising and facilitating the use of the collection (components);
- developing and giving training courses, workshops and online modules in (digital) information skills for all levels (of bachelor and master students SBE);
- establishing and monitoring the financial budget related to the SBE teaching and research collection;
- developing modules and providing support for systematic literature reviews and supervising students/PhDs/researchers in conducting systematic literature reviews;
- building and maintaining a network, both within SBE, where you are a member of the library committee, and within UM and nationally and internationally;
- initiating, coordinating and contributing to innovation projects in line with needs within UM for new UB policies and services.
Requirements
We are looking for you if you want to contribute to the best service for our students, faculty and researchers. You are communicatively strong and customer-oriented. You work proactively and independently and can work well together in different teams. You are closely involved with the client and are organization-sensitive. Furthermore, you are analytical, results-oriented and can translate innovative ideas into practice.
Furthermore, you have:
- at least a completed master's degree in the business or economic field (PhD is a plus);
- experience in developing and delivering education, also in online learning environments and with e-learning modules (completed BKO qualification is an advantage);
- experience with the use of relevant bibliographies, databases (in the field of financial and company data) and search engines for the business or economics field;
- experience with or affinity for preparing financial budgets;
- experience or affinity with conducting systematic reviews is an advantage;
- a very good command of Dutch and English (level C1).
What we offer
As Specialist scientific information Business and Economics at Universiteits Bibliotheek, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:
- Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 11 according to UFO profile Specialist Wetenschappelijke Informatie, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from €4537,00 and €6209,00 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
- An employment contract for a period of 12 months with a scope of 0,8 FTE. Upon proven suitability, the employment contract will be converted to an indefinite contract.
- At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.
