Postdoctoral position Digital strategies for prevention o psychosis and its consequences

The Division of Mental Health, Maastricht University, is looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher with a background in Psychiatry, Psychology, eHealth or a related field to work on a European study investigating digital strategies for prevention of psychosis and its consequences.

 

Job Description
Severe mental health conditions, including psychotic disorders, impose a substantial disease burden at both the individual and societal levels. This disease burden stems from early onset and delays in detection/diagnosis which leads to poor outcomes, including occupational impairments. Early detection and intervention in severe mental disorders hold the potential to avert disease progression and improve prognosis. This international project aims to refine, validate and pilot a set of clinical prediction models designed for early identification of individuals at high risk for psychosis across community, primary care and secondary health care settings in the Netherlands, Sweden, Italy, Spain and Denmark. The candidate will work in a collaborative environment and will be involved in:

 

  • Conduct scientific research within an international consortium
  • Implementation of digital tools and prediction models in health care
  • Quantitative and qualitative research 
  • Data collection
  • Data analyses 
  • Writing scientific papers 

 

Requirements
The successful candidate is motivated to improve mental health care and has:

 

  • A PhD in Medicine, Psychology or a related field
  • A strong interest in preventive psychiatry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently as in a multidisciplinary team 
  • Proficient programming skills (e.g. R or Python)
  • Proficient statistical knowledge 
  • Experience in working with electronic health record data is an advantage. 

 

What we offer
As a postdoctoral researcher at Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:

  • Good employment conditions. The position is in graded in scale 10 according to the UFO profile Researcher, function level 4, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from €3378,00 and €5331,00 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
  • An employment contract for a period of 36 months with a scope of 0.8 – 1.0 FTE. 
  • At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.
