PhD candidate in neural control/ neurofeedback
Maastricht University and Radboud University Nijmegen are jointly starting a research programme on neural control to restore brain function. In this project we aim to create adaptive and personalized translational approaches that optimize effectiveness and minimize invasiveness of neural control applied in vivo. We are particularly interested in the combination of (fMRI-)neurofeedback and biofeedback techniques and their application in stress research and related interventions.
Job Description
The successfull candidate will be part of the neurofeedback group (Maastricht University), working with Professor David Linden and Professor Rainer Goebel, and of the Affective Neuroscience groups of the Donders Institute, Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging (Radboud University), working with Professor Erno Hermans, Professor Karin Roelofs and Dr Floris Klumpers. He/she will plan, conduct, analyse and interpret experiments with multimodal physiological recordings and the modulation of physiological signals through neuro-/biofeedback. He/she will prepare experimental setups across both sites (Maastricht and Nijmegen) and innovate in the joint analysis of physiological signals from different sources. He/ she will also design tasks/ stimuli that probe stress responses and can subsequently be used in neurofeedback studies. We also expect willingness to collaborate with other groups of the neural control initiative, for example in other neuromodulation techniques, invasive recordings and/or artificial intelligence.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Preparation and maintenance of experimental setups;
