Job Description
UM SPORTS is looking for enthusiastic and driven gymnastics trainers for the student gymnastics association M.S.T.V. Saturnus. We are looking for a coach for both our male and female gymnasts. Now, the gymnasts have their practice on Monday and Wednesday evening 21:00-23:00h (Wednesday practices may be moved to 19:00-21:00h).
Requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active and customer friendly gymnastics instructor. The perfect candidate has affinity with student sports and student culture and meets the following requirements:
• Work experience as a gymnastics instructor
• Gymnastics certification required
• Being available on Mondays 21:00-23:00h and/or Wednesdays 19:00-21:00h / 21:00-23:00h
• Language of instruction: English (Dutch is a plus)
What we offer
As Gymnastics instructor MSTV Saturnus at Student Services Centre, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:
- Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 7 - 8 according to UFO profile Sports Instructor, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from €2899,00 and €4298,00 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
- An employment contract for a period of 12 months with a scope of 0,1 FTE. Upon proven suitability, the employment contract will be converted to an indefinite contract.
- At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.

UM SPORTS
UM SPORTS is a department of the Student Services Centre (SSC) of our Maastricht University and organises the sports programme for primarily Maastricht University’s students, staff and alumni. With its wide selection of sports (over 60 activities), 31 Student Sports Associations (SSA), fun events and student-friendly prices, UM SPORTS offers a healthy and fun sports experience with something for everyone.
UM’s international character is also strongly present at UM SPORTS, in both its members and employees. Most activities are offered in English, so everyone can join in.
UM SPORTS, with all its trainers and instructors, service desk staff and management team, has more than 120 employees. Many of our staff members are, or once were, students at Maastricht University. They all share a passion for sports and exercise.

MSTV Saturnus
The Maastricht Student Gymnastics association is an active gymnastics association with about 50 members. Within Saturnus there are members with different skill levels. From students who have been practicing gymnastics since their youth, to students who want to start during their studies, everyone is welcome. Besides gymnastics, Saturnus also offers other activities to their members, like members weekends or karaoke nights to get to know each other.
