Event Coordinator – School of Business and Economics (SBE)
- Our goal: Create engaging events that strengthen the visibility, reputation and community of the School of Business and Economics.
- Your colleagues: An international team of marketing, communications, recruitment and event professionals who work together to connect people with SBE.
The School of Business and Economics organises a wide range of events throughout the year. From Bachelor and Master Open Days to graduation ceremonies, alumni events, experience days and international competitions, these events play an important role in how we engage with prospective students, current students, alumni and partners. To continue building meaningful experiences, we are looking for an Event Coordinator who combines organisation with creativity and communication.
What you do
As an event coordinator, your main tasks will include:
Event operations:
- Plan and manage different events. This includes tasks such as managing registration, coming up with a programme and creative activities, managing external suppliers, coordinating event personnel, speaker coordination, etc.
- Oversee event budgets, monitor costs, and ensure financial accountability.
- Collect feedback and evaluate event outcomes for continuous improvement.
Event communication:
- Work with event management and registration systems (Swoogo, Momice)
- Basic use of CRM systems linked to the events (Microsoft Dynamics)
- Work with email marketing tools (Spotler)
- Manage communication channels (SCALA, Social Media)
- Work with Canva using existing templates and brand guidelines used in event communication
- Adapt presentations decks for events (PowerPoint, Canva)

- Collaborative by nature – You enjoy working in a team environment and understand how strong collaboration contributes to successful events.
- Experienced in coordination – You bring at least two years of experience in event coordination, project coordination or a similar role and know how to turn plans into results.
We specifically welcome candidates to apply who have experience or affinity with visual communication and graphic tools, such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite. Also candidates with technical proficiency and confidence in using digital tools, event management software and AV equipment are preferred. English is the primary working language for this role; knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
What we offer
At Maastricht University, you’ll work in an international, open, and engaged environment. We offer:
- An 12-month contract with a scope of 0.8 fte.
- A gross monthly salary between €3382 and €4484 (based on full-time employment of 38 hours per week). 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus.
- 29 vacation days (based on full-time), four additional days off (Carnival Monday and Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day), and the possibility to accrue up to 12 extra days through compensation hours.
