Job Description
As Educational Coordinator, you are part of a team that ensures all operational processes underlying education run smoothly, and you support staff in relation to logistical and administrative issues. You are part of the FASoS Teaching & Learning Hub, the faculty’s ‘go to place’ for teaching and learning practice. You are operating in the heart of the faculty.  The Teaching & Learning Hub is committed to quality support, policy and research, and offers a platform for relevant experimentation and exploration.

 

The Educational Coordinator supports the FASoS programme directors. You have responsibilities in the following areas:

  • You work closely with programme directors as being part of the curriculum team(s), you are the first contact point for incoming requests on operational and data management tasks related to BA or MA programmes;
  • You will be responsible for collecting and analysing relevant educational data, working closely with various colleagues within the faculty.
  • You liaise with academic staff as well as support staff of the other departments and clusters such as the Office of Student Affairs, Finance, ICT, Marketing and Communications, P&D, Research Support Office and with external partners (e.g. Student Services Centre, University Library) whenever needed;
  • You evaluate and optimize operational processes and data management;
  • You support the programme director by organizing the practical side of the curriculum such as education plans, re-accreditations and midterms.

 

Requirements

  • You are pro-active and you combine managerial and data management skills with enthusiasm for creating a supportive and engaging teaching and learning environment.
  • You have good communication skills and you easily adapt to different work styles and to the expectations of those you work with.
  • Data expertise: You have demonstrable experience with data-supported work and know how to apply this in your position.
  • Experience with Analysis tools: You know how to make good use of SAP, BI, MS Excel and general-purpose statistical software such as Stata.
  • Analytical and result-oriented: You can get to the bottom of data issues quickly, identify inefficiencies and work solution-focused on improvements.
  • Reporting: You are able to clearly present your findings to colleagues both orally and in writing.
  • Minimal requirement is a degree in Applied Sciences or you have reached this level in terms of experience.
  • Additionally you have experience in a higher education environment. 
  • Finally, you have a good command of English and Dutch, both spoken and written.

 

What we offer
As an Educational Coordinator at Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:

  • Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 10 according to UFO profile Onderwijscoördinator, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from €3378,00 and €5331,00 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
  • An employment contract for a period of 12 months with a scope of 0,8 - 1,0 FTE. Upon proven suitability, the employment contract will be converted to an indefinite contract. 
  • At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences FASoS is a close-knit community of approximately 250 staff members and 2100 students. During breaks and before meetings, you can often find us at our favourite local coffee spot Bandito Espresso.
