Two Assistant Professors at the Department of Organisation, Strategy and Entrepreneurship
We are seeking one organisation scholar and one strategy scholar to join our team. We welcome expertise in areas such as sustainability, strategic use of AI in organisations, market positioning, mergers & acquisitions, leadership, organisational behaviour, crowdfunding, opportunity recognition and exploitation, and innovation. Scholars with complementary interests are also encouraged to apply.
At OSE, we combine rigorous research and research-based education with a strong commitment to societal impact. We value interdisciplinary collaboration and encourage initiatives in grant acquisition and research valorisation. You will join a dynamic, internationally oriented faculty with strong ties to leading universities and research institutes worldwide.
What you bring
It’s not about ticking boxes – it’s about your ideas, drive, and ability to inspire. Do you recognize yourself in this?
- Academic foundation – You hold a PhD in Organisation, Strategy, or Entrepreneurship and have published or have forthcoming articles in international peer-reviewed journals.
- Research mindset – You are familiar with diverse empirical methods and have an interest in grant acquisition and research impact.
- Passionate educator – You have experience in teaching and course development, and you know how to engage students in our small-scale, problem-based learning (PBL) system. Experience in international classrooms is a plus.
- Collaborative spirit – You value teamwork and contribute to a positive, inclusive academic community.
- Language skills – You communicate fluently in English, both spoken and written.
- Commitment – You are willing to relocate to (the vicinity of) Maastricht.
What we offer
At Maastricht University, you’ll work in an international, open, and engaged environment. We offer:
- A temporary contract with a maximum of 18 months, with the prospect of a permanent contract based on mutual satisfaction.
- A gross monthly salary between €4.728 and €6.433 (based on full-time employment of 38 hours per week). 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus.
- 29 vacation days (based on full-time), four additional days off (Carnival Monday and Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day), and the possibility to accrue up to 12 extra days through compensation hours.

The Department of Organisation, Strategy and Entrepreneurship (OSE) is a vibrant international group of academics dedicated to high-quality, socially relevant research and education. It also hosts the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI | CEI Maastricht), where education, incubation and innovation come together. OSE has 50+ staff members, including professors, lecturers, PhD students and support staff. The department provides state-of-the-art undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate education, with a strong commitment to small-group, problem-based learning (PBL).
